(ENBSeries) Enhanced bloom effect and stuff for games
ok first of all idk if this is the right place to post this so mods feel free to move
So i came across this thing called ENBSeries which is enhancing Bloom Effect for games. There are videos on youtube that shows this on games like WoW, GTA 4 and Warhammer online like these:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsTNoIETGLo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvk1--J8Nq4&feature=fvw
I know GW has pretty awesome bloom effects in some areas, most notably in Eotn, but some areas in old school Tyria like Southern Shiverpeaks could use some facelifting.(Also it could make exploring old areas fresh and shiny) So i was wondering if theres anyone out there with some experience with this software and if its safe to use with GW without getting ban or if its gonna work at all.

Why would you intentionally add image distortion? I've never understood the fascination with adding this effect. It distorts the image and degrades the quality.

This also works when applied to other games. Tomb Raider Anniversary for example...

Am I the only one who prefered the games with out the effect (expecially wow).
War becomes a tad too much imo and wow fits better more cartoony. For my tastes at least.
EDIT : after noticing the question, I have no experience. But I think this or Campfire is the place for it.

If I wanted to be bombarded with wicked amounts of bloom, I would go outside.

How bloom doesn't hurt other people's eyes is beyond me, I honestly can't stand looking at the excessive amounts of bloom being used more and more often for more then 10 minutes.

I have no idea what bloom you are talking about even after watching the videos.

I love the ENBseries, I always used it in Oblivion when I was play. Completely changed how everything looked, it was so much better, just seemed fresh. One thing I would have even more is when you are resurrected in JQ and the light from the res shrine is right up in your screen, it's already bad enough I can only imagine how much worse it would get haha.

If I wanted bloom, I'd play games that have nothing but bloom to offer, like Oblivion.

As far as I'm concerned the only place in guild wars that could really use bloom is mineral springs.

It's far worse than that. People use this program to add more bloom to Oblivion. They must hate their eyes. Prepare to be horrified:

They even added motion blur. It must not have been awful enough.

Damn it all to hell; they added motion blur. That's just wrong.

I had to stop watching that after a couple of minutes because the constant changing by the dude filming it was making my eyes screw up (the whole flash it on for 1 second then off again repeatedly). I'll admit in some places, it can look good. There was a bit in the video where an NPC's face was glowing as though someone had shoved luminescent face paint on her while the background looked fine. Mind you, the background looked ok without the bloom as well :/ The blur was awful though (had to clean my glasses to make sure it wasn't them). I also noticed the obligatory "LOOK AT THE WATER, ISN'T IT REALISTIC!" shot that most game designers also love. You know, the ones who spend more money on making sure that the water ripples and flows realistically than investing in the mechanics and playability of the game.
Yes, tricking out your graphics can be cool, at other times it makes you feel like your eyes are having the equivalent of an epileptic fit.
Bloom? In MY Guild Wars? It's less likely than you think.

The motion blur is horrible, but I think that the extra lightning on the terrain is nice.
It doesnt actually hurt my eyes, but I can stare at the sun without feeling any discomfort, so my eyes arent normal.

Bloom is a plague that should be exterminated. I turn off all post-processing effects just to annihilate this horror.
